Chinese classics (II)

The classic of all Chinese classics is, no doubt, the Analects of Confucius (論語), a collection of sayings by the sage, as recorded by his disciples:



The first Western translation of the work, in Latin, was included in the 1687 book Confucius Sinarum Philosophus (literally, "Confucius, Philosopher of the Chinese", but better known as "Life and Works of Confucius"), co-authored by the Jesuits Prospero Intorcetta and Philippe Couplet:
